This is unlike Wed May 17 when we saw snow and graupel with temps in the 40s, when we had much lower wet bulbs and dewpoints than we will see Thursday. Dewpoints and wet bulbs will be fairly high on Thursday, which should keep any snow in the mountains and not at lower elevations. Some models even have afternoon temperatures hovering around 40. Far NE Maine (places like Fort Kent, Caribou, and Presque Isle) may only make it to the mid 40s Thursday with rain in the morning, possibly persisting into the afternoon. Rain persists on the north side of a cold front slowing sliding SE through the area. A cold front approaches Sunday and stalls in the area Sunday night, followed by another high building in through Monday. High pressure then builds to the south through Saturday night. An upper low will meander across Maine into Friday, exiting into the Canadian Maritimes late in the day. A cold front will finish pushing south through the region this evening.
